Rooted in History

We’re paying homage to our site’s 100+ year history of canning along the Willamette River.

The Salem Kings Product Company established a canning operation here in 1917 that employed around 130 workers. In 1928, the site was sold to the Reid Murdock & Company who oversaw several decades of operation before the plant changed ownership to the Truitt Brothers in 1973. This property was there for it all: surviving the Great Depression, contributing to the war effort during WWII, and thriving during post-war prosperity in the second half of the 20th century.

Our development plans focus on sustainability and environmentally conscious design, aiming to create an eco-friendly community that promotes health and well-being. By integrating biophilic design and responsible resource consumption, we aim to set an example for sustainable living and contribute positively to Salem’s future.
